Laxman Narasimhan, the new CEO of Starbucks, plans to improve the company's coffee chain and service by spending four hours in a different Starbucks store each month alongside the baristas to better understand store operations.

Laxman Narasimhan, the new CEO of Starbucks, plans to improve the company's coffee chain and service by spending four hours in a different Starbucks store each month alongside the baristas to better understand store operations.

He aims to improve payment technology and other systems to support Starbucks' planned global expansion.

The former CEO of consumer-products company Reckitt Benckiser Group also expressed his focus on reducing shortages and waste in the company's supply chain as a means to improving coffee quality.
