ONLINE education and technology now play an important role in developing the country's workforce and microentrepreneurs, according to the top official of the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC).
This, as the PTTC has partnered with Globe Philippines and Proxtera to launch a mobile app for financial empowerment of microentrepreneurs at the PTTC head office in Pasay City on Friday.
The PTTC is an agency under the Department of Trade and Industry.
"We need to know how we spend our money, how we invest wisely, how we manage our debts, and how we manage our income," PTTC Executive Director Nelly Nita Dillera told The Manila Times at the sidelines of the event.
"There are plenty of resources available online, so let us maximize those," she said.During the height of the pandemic, it became evident that digital platforms should be utilized to sustain economic activity, which made it necessary for entrepreneurs to learn about digital marketing and e-commerce.
"It must be a lifelong learning," Dillera added.
Also, available online resources helped equip people with finance and accounting, business development, operation, certification, among others.
"It is much easier now because everything is online," she pointed out.
